PETALING JAYA: Four college students have been charged in a magistrate’s court here with the double murder of a man and his lecturer daughter at a house in Puchong.

Mohamad Zul Shahril Suhaimi, 19, Mohamad Sharafe Matt Noh, 18, Azizi Aizat Ibrahim, 20, and Muhamad Safwan Muhamad, 19, were accused of murdering retiree Omar Peter Abdullah, 56, at a house at Taman Kinrara, Puchong, between 11.30pm on March 8 and 1.30am the next day.

The four were also charged with killing his daughter Zara Eleena, 23, at the same place between 1.30am and 2.30am on March 9.

They nodded when the charges were read out to them before Magistrate Ahmad Solihin Abd Wahid.

No plea was recorded.

The four have been charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the death penalty upon conviction.

Ahmad Solihin set April 23 for mention.

DPP Nur Aifaa Che Abdullah prosecuted while the students were unrepresented.

The four had been arrested at various locations in the city and Selangor earlier in the month.

The decomposing bodies of Omar Peter and his daughter were found at their home on March 11 by Omar Peter’s wife and a team of policemen.
